Frequently Asked Questions

When should I arrive for my appointment?

  • To ensure you receive the best treatment possible, please ensure you are on time for your appointment. New patients need to arrive for their dentist appointments 10 minutes early to complete their medical history paperwork. You can complete the form in advance here.
  • Should you be running late for your appointment please call our surgery as your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

How do I pay for my appointment?

  • Payment is required on the day of your dentist appointment.
  • To make your visit with us a convenient one, we have the HICAPS facility. This enables us, with participating Health Funds, to claim directly from your particular health fund all with the ease of a swipe of your members card.
  • We receive your entitlement and all you have to pay is the remaining balance. No more lining up in queues or waiting for weeks while you receive your claim from your health fund. We also accept cash, Eftpos, Mastercard and Visa.

How do payment plans work?

At Dental on George we work closely with our clients to accommodate a suitable payment plan. Speak with our team members to find out more.

What is the cancellation policy at Dental on George?

  • Should you be unable to attend your appointment, we would require at least 24hours notice.
  • Should you need to cancel your appointment within this time frame or you miss your appointment you may be required to pay a missed appointment fee.
  • A deposit would also be required for all future appointments.

What is involved in getting a dental implant?

There are usually three steps involved in implant treatment.

  1. First the implant screw is placed surgically into the bone.
  2. After a suitable healing time, usually 8 weeks, an impression (or mould) is taken of the implant and sent to the lab for the crown to be made.
  3. Finally, the crown (or artificial tooth) is screwed or cemented to the implant.

What is the difference between a holistic dentist and a general dentist?

  • The philosophy behind holistic dentistry revolves around eliminating any sources of chemical or bacterial toxicity from the mouth.
  • Chemical and bacterial toxins all contribute towards a whole host of degenerative diseases of the body. Dental on George therefore offers exceptionally high quality filling materials which work more harmoniously with the body and specialise in safely removing filling materials which may contain mercury.
  • Sources of bacterial toxicity include bacteria found in gum disease; infected teeth and incompletely extracted teeth from previous treatments. Dental on George offers treatment options to address all these sources of bacterial toxicity.
