At Dental on George, we offer customised treatment options to help open your airways and improve your breathing during sleep. With our holistic approach, including oral appliances and myofunctional therapy, we can help you breathe easier, sleep better and wake up feeling refreshed.
What Is Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA)?
Obstructive sleep apnoea occurs when the muscles in your throat relax too much, or soft tissues in your mouth block your airway, disrupting your breathing. This can cause you to wake up several times throughout the night, preventing your body from getting the needed oxygen and rest.
Common symptoms of OSA include:
- Waking up with a dry or sore throat
- Persistent drowsiness
- Morning headaches
- Irritability or mood swings
- Difficulty concentrating or brain fog
If left untreated, sleep apnoea can contribute to more severe health concerns, such as high blood pressure, stroke, depression, heart disease and more.
